Yeah that is what I thought about today, from a person
getting glasses to staring contests, I was forced to think about eyes
today. The biggest reason was because I
am forced to write with my right hand because my left is all messed up. I concentrated hard on what I was writing or
typing (and my handwriting wasn’t bad). Starting from that my mind wandered…
Eyes, why do we have them? Eyes that see, eyes that glare,
eyes that judge.
Eyes represent
characters. Warm brown; sad blue.
Eyes are the gateway to the soul. Why then must we look others in the eye?
People never want to expose their true self.
They say it shows you
are not lying. The confrontation, the
accusation, why should I face that? But when I divert my eyes, what do you do
with yours?
How much of our mind is filled with images from the physical
eye? How much is corrected by the mental
images and stereotypes of humans?
Why must eyes hold sway over us? The evaluation of our lives rests on two
jelly balls.
Where am I going with this?
Nowhere. I still have that naïve feeling
that my thoughts and actions are my own, not created by some outside force, whether
it be what my eyes see or what other people tell me is the truth. What a weird way to start a blog.
Funny, your handwriting is no different than it normally is...
ReplyDelete"But when I divert my eyes, what do you do with yours?" -- I stare at you, until you look again. Hahaha.
All kidding aside, this is interesting (I need to find a better word to use) to have thought about. I've often noticed that when I meet people, I go straight for the eyes. Not really sure why I do that, but it's just one of those things that I do. I've never been one for reading people, but I still believe that the eyes tell a story and that the eyes can talk too. Aaaand, I've lost my train of thought now...
